This is a lovely vibrant large purse typical of the 1920s. The purse is decorated with beautiful micro-beaded pink roses with multi-toned green leaves on a silvery grey background. The tassel is of twisted green and silvered beads. The frame is of cut-out silvered metal featuring a central angel with wings and bird motifs at the sides. At the top of the fame there are two swans which hold the linked silver metal chain and the clasp composes of two flower buds. The purse on the inside is lined with a metallic and pale blue fabric with delicate braid at the top featuring pink rosebuds. On one side there is a matching internal pocket which is decorated with the same rosebud theme. The whole purse is in excellent condition for age – the only deficiency being the absence of a couple of tassels. The clasp opens and closes with a snap and there is no obvious loss of beads on the main purse. This would be a gorgeous item to use, display or as part of a collection of these now rare larger fashion accessories. Length with tassel (excluding chain) is 12 ins (30.5cm), width 7 ins (17.5cm). Weight 298 grams.
