This is a woven fabric purse highly decorated with small beads that appear to be steel with its shine, but do not apparently attract a magnet. It has a cord drawstring for opening and closing and is lined with a heavy silk fabric which appears to have been hand-stitched in position. The condition is good for age with one side showing some slight patches of discolouration. This is a very nice example of the small purse or reticule that was carried by the ladies of the 19th century. Width 4.5 ins (11.5cm), height 6 ins (15cm). Weight 42 grams.
