This is a beautiful 19th Century French teardrop perfume bottle of 18 carat gold and glass. It is housed in its original velvet-lined cardboard box and is complete including its tiny stopper. The shape of the bottle is extremely attractive. There appears to be no maker’s mark but the gold top tests for 18 carat gold. The bottle itself is in excellent condition. The box shows some wear particularly at the short, straight end but is still present and a great addition to the presentation of the perfume bottle. 5.25 ins (13.5cm) x 2 ins (5cm) x 1 ins (2.5cm). Weight 92 grams. This item appears in my book, “Antique Boxes, Inside and Out” on page 423.
