Keeping crickets as pets has been a part of Eastern, especially Chinese, culture. The song of the cricket was appreciated or else some crickets were used for fighting. These boxes can be identified by the ventilation holes. This is a charming bamboo example in the form of an oval-shaped cage with sliding door. This item is in very good condition with no breakage of the enclosure and is a particularly charming example. 2.75 ins (7cm) x 1.25 ins (3.5cm) x 2 ins (5cm). Weight 32 grams.
