Delightful and rare English silver filigree tape measure with original rose-pink silk tape marked in inches but with a considerable amount missing as it starts from 19 inches. At the top of the tape measure is a ring so this could have been easily attached to a chatelaine or chain. The filigree is in excellent condition. With care the tape can be unwound and then winds up quite well by twisting the ring at the top. This would make a lovely addition to a collection of rare needlework tools, other antique needlework tools, tape measures or similar exquisite filigree pieces. This was acquired some years ago from Nerylla Taunton, author of “Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries”. Please note that currently there are another four lovely filigree pieces that would make a great collection to add to a Georgian sewing box (see last image). Maximum height 1 ins (2.5cm) Diameter 0.7 ins (1.8cm) Weight 4 grams.
