This two-compartmented tea caddy is of lovely specimen timbers (said to be Australian). The top and sides are decorated with diamonds of the timbers. There is a keyhole and lock with key (non-functional). When opened, the lid is lined with a burgundy flocked, patterned paper. The two compartments have lids with decorative treen lifting handles and are lined with silvered paper. The base is covered with green baize. The condition is very good for age with some very slight splitting of the paper lining. This box could be paired with a sewing box we have listed as they both appear to have been made by the same hand (GEC-001221). This item would be very practical for use today or would display very well on its own or with its companion sewing box to nice effect - see final image. Measures 10 ins (25.5cm) x 5.25 ins (13.75cm) x 5 ins (13cm). Weight 1022 grams.
Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA (and signature on delivery) would be $41.00 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. This item is covered by our own insurance policy. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
