This is a desirable and collectible graduated stack of bentwood pantry boxes. They appear to have been always together as a set. All three boxes fit into each other and then could be fitted into the bail-handled pantry box we currently have listed on this site. Each of the three boxes is closed in similar fashion with a row of copper nails. The condition is very good for age, however, the small box has slight damage near the lid closure and a fine crack at the top; the middle box has lost a section of the edge (but this does not show when closed), and the largest box has a split at the bottom of the main box near its join (which could be re-glued), and a fine crack at the base. Despite this, when put together, they make a lovely classic display of pantry box stacks as can be seen in the image from my book, ‘Antique Boxes, Inside and Out” on page 104. Smallest box diameter is 6.75 ins (17.1cm) x height 2.75 ins (7cm). Largest box is diameter 9.75 ins (24.7cm) x height 5 ins (12.7cm). Combined weight 1138 grams. Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $57.00 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
