This is a rare, original copperplate engraving from an early Biblical history published in 1817. The Noah’s Ark is described as ‘floating on the waves of the deluge’. The image of the Ark of the Covenant shows a most decorative example with charming winged cherubs on the top and a lidded ewer in the front. The engraver is A. Bell. The item is in very good condition with minimal foxing and no tears. It is currently housed in an acid-free mount which has a fine black inner edge. Once framed, this would be a lovely item to hang in the appropriate setting.
Matted size width 12.5 ins (31.7cm) x height 14.5 ins (36.8cm). This item appears in my book, “Antique boxes, Inside & Out” on page 188.
Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $39.00 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
