This brass knife or cutlery box has a special feature for the cutlery containers; there are two mirrored panels which cover the deep sections for the storage of knives or cutlery. These are decorated with attractive ceramic lifting knobs. The interior is lined with dark velvet fabric; one section needs re-gluing. The lifting handle is stylishly curved. The overall condition is very good for age but the brass and mirror is tarnished in some areas and one foot may need to be re-soldered. This piece would be an appealing item to decorate a home or possibly could be used for its originally designed purpose. Length 13 ins x width 9 ins x height 8.5 ins. Weight 1.26 kgs. This item appears in my book, “Antique boxes, Inside and Out” on page 132. Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $59.00 USD - with no tracking is cheaper.
