This lovely watch has the rarer gold face in contrast to the more common black face. This watch is presented in its original box which has an outer cardboard sleeve with a perforated circle so that the gold motif on the actual box shines through. Inside are two operating manuals. These classic ‘Museum’ watches have a dot at 12 o’clock, “symbolizing the sun at high noon”. The face has no numbers marked but prominent hands. At the bottom of the dial are the words ‘Swiss Movado Quartz’. On the back is the mark 87-25-832 and below this 283551 and a final mark of Water Resistant. The band is the original leather. The buckle is present and it is not known if originally it had a sliding loop. The watch and box are in very good condition for age; the outer cardboard box shows some wear at each end. The watch itself has been recently serviced, has a new battery and is currently in working order. This is a most stylish watch to add to a collection of iconic wristwatches. Total length 8.25 ins (20.8cm), diameter of watch 2.2cm. Total weight 260 grams. This item appears in my book, "How the Watch was Worn - A Fashion for 500 Years", on page 247. Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $36.50 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
