Feeding cups such as this were used to give fluid and nourishment to the sick or infirm, having a side handle for the patient or carer to support the cup and a spout to be placed within the mouth. They were much used in wartime and this style has the classic Red Cross on the top so is most likely to have been a military wartime example. This example has a faint mark on the base (see image). There is minimal fading to the Red Cross and some wear to the gilding on the spout and the handle, but it is otherwise in very good condition for age. This would be an interesting item to add to a collection of militaria, nursing items or unusual cups. Diameter of bowl 3.75 ins (9.5cm). Weight 150 grams.
Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $26.50 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
