This cabinet card depicts a well-dressed lady in bustle gown, who is identified by writing on the back as Rosy Rutt, wife of Hiram. She is wearing a multitude of jewellery pieces including a vest chain which appears to be pinned on one side with the watch held in a crochet pocket on the other side. She has a bar brooch at her throat, a slender bangle on one wrist and a couple of rings on her fingers. On the back of the cabinet card is the photographer’s details - Stout's Photographic Studio, 307 North Hampton Street, Easton, PA, with the statement “Instantaneous Process”. The condition of the card is very good with a crisp image with only a few scattered small spots. This image gives an excellent illustration of the manner of wearing jewellery and clothing of the 1880s. Width 4.25 ins x 6.5 ins. (11cm x 16cm). This item appears in my book, "How the Watch was Worn - A Fashion for 500 Years”. Registered Air Mail Post to the USA would be $13.00. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
