This interesting necklace consists of faceted beads of bloodstone - a stone of religious significance. The beads are of deep green with variable red flecks. They are all of identical size and have been mounted on a silver chain. This closes with a small springring. When acquired, it came with a tiny pendant perfume bottle which is closely compatible in colour but appears to be most likely New Zealand greenstone (nephrite). This is mounted with silver. The silver has been used for the cap (which screws off) and a small suspension loop and ring. The patterning on the perfume bottle is reminiscent of Maori designs. To make the necklace easily able to be attached to the perfume bottle it would need an additional split ring or small swivel for attachment. The condition is very good for age with only one tiny chip being noted but this does not detract. Either piece could be happily worn on its own. Together or separate, this would be a charming piece of jewellery. Maximum length of chain 20.75 ins (52.2cm). Perfume bottle with ring length is 1.3 ins (3.4cm). Combined weight 36 grams. Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $36.50 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
