This small silverplate purse is in book-form. It has two scrolling handles on each side at the top to which are attached chains passing to a finger ring. It has the addition of a small silver ball incorporated into the ring to look more decorative when worn. The front and back of the purse are decorated with a scrolling repoussé pattern with flowers and leaves. It opens at the top to reveal a green moiré baize lining. The two internal compartments currently have no contents. It closes securely with its clip on one side and hinge on the other. The condition overall is good for age although there is some wear and minimal staining to the lining. This would be a nice addition to a collection of small purses, finger ring chatelaines or general fashion accessories.
Purse measures 3.4 ins (8.6cm) x 2 ins (5cm) x 0.8 ins (2.4cm). Total length 6.5 ins (16.5cm). Weight 84 grams.
This item appears in my book, “Chatelaines, Utility to Glorious Extravagance” on page 271.
Insured Air Mail Post with tracking to the USA would be $30.00 USD - with no tracking is cheaper. For shipping cost to other countries, please contact us.
