Mint deck of Grimaud’s “Poker Joker” cards, together with its original wrapper. The court cards are the standard French Paris Pattern courts. The deck has the 1890 tax stamp, but based upon the wrapper it seems more likely that the deck dates from the second period in which the 1890 tax stamp was in use, namely c.1922-1940. That is, the designation of “Impôt: 7 fr. 50” on the wrapper seems to imply a date in that latter period, according to what is shown at Peter Endebrock’s website.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus the famous “Poker Joker.” The cards are small bridge size, measuring 84mm x 54mm, with gold gilt corners, and come in the original wrapper.
The cards are mint. They came to me sealed in their original wrapper. The wrapper was cut, and the cards removed, to be enjoyed and photographed for this listing. The wrapper itself is quite clean, but does show general wear, along with the effects of removing the cards.
Thanks for visiting.
