A beautiful Mauchline Ware bezique counter, with a Tartan Ware finish, made c.1870s. It appears to me to be the Stuart Tartan, but I am hardly an expert on Scottish Tartans. It is small, measuring approximately 2.9" to the vertical and 2.0" to the horizontal. It came to me without pegs, and I have supplied 2 matching bone pegs that fit the small peg holes well. They are not as nice as the piece itself, but are the best I can offer. The pegs are stored in holes in the side of the counter, covered by a metal piece that swivels; the pegs supplied fit comfortably in those side holes.
The piece is in terrific shape, nearly "as new," without issues of any kind.
