Mint deck of interesting and attractive cards made c.1980 by Protea of South Africa for Ashari Productions, a company in Cape Town. The cards feature native rock art by the San people (aka “Bushmen” – now considered a derogatory term), the earliest hunter-gatherers of southern Africa. The images on these cards is similar to cave art found in Europe and petroglyphs in the western United States.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 2 insert cards giving a brief history of the San people. The cards are wide, measuring 90mm x 63mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are mint. The box is “as new.”
