Three decks of “wild west” playing cards. Each is available separately for $15; all three are for sale for $45. Each is described separately below:

• A deck made by United States Playing Card Company for “Fashionwest Accessories” called “Wild West,” with illustrations of legendary heroes of the wild west on the court cards, including Jesse James, Annie Oakley, Bat Masterson, Wyatt Earp, Calamity Jane, etc. The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 4 Jokers the same. The cards are wide (poker size) and come in the original box. The cards are mint, and the box is “as new.” The cellophane on the box was broken to permit inspection and photographing for this listing.

• A deck called “Cudahy Bar S,” maker unknown, made for Cudahy Bar S Meat Packing Co., featuring designs by Ed Mell. The Aces and pip cards have biographical information on famous wild west individuals, and the court cards and Jokers have illustrations of wild west types. Though different colors, the court card illustrations are repeated on each suit. The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers. The cards are slightly wide, measuring 87mm x 61mm, and come in the original box. The cards are in mint condition, but the box has a large chunk of the top flap missing, as if someone had taken a bite out of it. Reference: Dawson, The Hochman Encyclopedia of American Playing Cards, p.309, N51.

• A mint, sealed deck, maker unknown, called “Cowhands” that features the delightful cartoons of “Tasco.” Each card has a cartoon based upon the “cowhand” theme, and they are wonderful. I have elected not to break the cellophane of this deck, but have sold open decks of these cards in the past and they are great fun. I believe that the deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, one of which can be seen through the cellophane. The cards are bridge size, and come in the original box. The cards are mint and sealed; the box is in good to very good condition, reasonably clean with modest shelf wear.

THE AMOUNT SHOWN FOR DOMESTIC SHIPPING ASSUMES THAT ALL 3 DECKS ARE PURCHASED. IF FEWER ARE PURCHASED, SHIPPING WILL BE SLIGHTLY LESS.

Thanks for visiting.
