Extremely beautiful set of cards made by USPC subsidiary The Kemper-Thomas Co., called “Kay-Tee” cards, for Mt. Holyoke College on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 1937. Though it is difficult to see in the photographs, the backs have the Mt. Holyoke emblem surrounded by the name of the college and the inclusive years of the centennial.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus a wonderful Joker unique to the deck. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 57mm, with gorgeous gold gilt around, and they come in an unmarked telescope type box that may be original. It is tempting to suggest that these cards were handed out in connection with centennial celebrations at the college, but I do not know.
The cards are pristine. The box is in excellent condition, with slight overall wear to the outer box.
Thanks for visiting.
