Delightful set of cards “Designed and Made in British Hong Kong,” maker unknown, titled,” Le Ore.” “Le Ore” was a magazine published in Italy from 1953 to 1994. Beginning in 1973 the magazine began to take on erotic content, and judging from the risqué nature of some of these cards, I am inclined to think that these cards were published by the magazine. On the Jack of Diamonds the name “El Cubano” appears. It is possible that the Jack of Diamonds depicts someone known as “El Cubano,” but I am inclined to think “El Cubano” is the artist that designed the court cards and Jokers. His is the only name that appears on any of the cards.
There are 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 62mm, and come in a plastic box that is not original to the cards.
The cards are “as new.” FWIW, the plastic box is cloudy, but otherwise in excellent condition.
Thanks for visiting.
