Ms. Playing Cards “Lib Deck” Playing Cards, Professional Trading Aids Copyright, c.1975
Wonderful deck of cards with suffragette backs promoting women's liberation, published in 1975. The Ace of Spades indicates that the cards are by "Ms. Playing Card Co.," but it seems likely that "Ms. Playing Card Co." is only the publisher. At the same time, the copyright for the original designs in this these cards apparently belonged to an entity called "Professional Training Aids." I assume that "Ms. Playing Card Co." is a dba or subsidiary of Professional Training Aids, but I have included both names. Frankly, the cards have similarities to the famous Jack Daniels No. 7 cards, cards that I understand were first made by Brown & Bigelow and later printed by Hoyle. But I cannot find any connection to B&B and simply make the observation. All of the court cards are women; the jokers are men. But the cards are humorous and playful, not strident or angry.
The deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm, and come in a plastic box that is not original.
The cards are in excellent, “as new” condition. FWIW, the plastic box is in excellent condition with a couple of surface scratches.
