Mint, sealed (cards, not box) deck of cards with caricatures of the athletes that participated in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. The cards appear to me to have been made in Korea or perhaps China, as the packaging is typical of cards made in those countries at or about this time. The final 2 pictures in this listing are of the actual deck for sale; the earlier pictures, including the featured picture showing the faces of the cards, are from an open deck. I cannot read what is written on the box or the cards, and it is possible that information about the maker and/or publisher and/or artist is shown there. I do not find these cards mentioned in any of the sources available to me, and I do not believe they are shown at the World Web Playing Card Museum.
Among the many famous athletes caricatured are: Michael Jordan (Q of Spades), Magic Johnson (10 of Spades), Pele (A of Spades), Diego Maradona (3 of Spades), Carl Lewis (6 of Clubs), Daley Thompson (8 of Clubs), John McEnroe (8 of Hearts), Steffi Graf (9 of Hearts), Martina Navratilova (10 of Hearts), Kristin Otto (Q of Diamonds), and Mike Tyson (A of Diamonds).
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers. The cards are slightly small bridge size, measuring 87mm x 57mm. They come in the original box.
The cards are mint and sealed. The box is "as new."
