Three different sets of cards – 2 double decks, 1 single deck – of primary interest to card collecting enthusiasts affiliated with one or more of the larger card collecting clubs in the United States and worldwide. Each is separately available for $10, and all 3 sets cost $25. Each is described briefly below.

• A gorgeous double deck set of Bicycle cards made by USPC c.1986 on the occasion of the first convention of the International Playing Card Society to take place in the United States. The cards of each deck are bridge size, with beautiful gold gilt edges. Unfortunately, one of the decks – an open deck – is missing its Ace of Spades and its extra card. One of the decks is mint and sealed in its wrapper, and an extra card shows through the wrapper – an extra card on which USPC “extends a cordial welcome to the International Playing Card Society on the occasion of it’s first American convention.” The other deck is mint but has been removed from its wrapper, and in that process it appears that the Ace of Spades and the extra card noted have gone missing. Thus, the open deck has 51 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers and no extra card. The decks come in a handsome USPC presentation box, inside a sleeve.

• A mint double deck set of Gemaco cards with “put together” backs, published c.2000 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Chicago Playing Card Collectors, Inc. In all respects, the cards are standard bridge size Gemaco cards, but the backs of the 2 decks must be put together to read a single message. Both decks are mint.

• A mint, sealed deck made by Carta Mundi c.2000 on the occasion of the first joint conference of the International Playing Card Society and 52+ Joker. According to the backs, Gov. John Rowland of Connecticut declared the date of that joint conference, October 11, 2000, to be “Playing Card History Day.” As noted, the cards are mint and sealed, but they appear to be standard Carta Mundi cards, as the Joker that shows through the wrapper is a standard Carta Mundi joker. I assume that the deck has 52 suited cards, plus at least 2 Jokers.
