Extremely beautiful facsimile deck made by Solleone and Vito Arienti in 1982, titled “Jeu des Fortifications,” based upon a set of cards made in France c.1763. This Solleone facsimile set was made in a limited edition of 600 decks, of which this is no. 222. The cards depict early fortifications of the City of Paris.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus a card introducing the deck, plus a folded double size card that opens to illustrate the fortifications shown on the other cards. The cards are slightly small, measuring 84mm x 57mm, on unfinished stock. They are “wrapped” in a cardboard which fits inside a sleeve.
The cards and packaging materials are mint.
