More from Two For His Heels
Gorgeous deck of the Hermes cards that feature the wonderful illustrations of famous French graphic designer, Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron (pseudonym, "Cassandre"). This is the second printing of these cards by Draeger-Freres. The first edition was published in 1948, and the cards were published about two years later in this second edition.
The deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus an insert card. The cards are slightly large and wide, measuring 91mm x 60mm, with gold gilt around, and they come in the original box. Usually these cards are in double deck sets that are housed in an orange Hermes box, but this deck has only the card box.
The cards are in excellent condition, very lightly used if at all, with almost all gold gilt intact. The box is in good, perhaps very good, condition, with minor shelf wear and tearing at the top flap.
There is also a double deck set of these cards for sale in this shop in the original orange Hermes box. (T00002782)
Reference (this second edition): Fournier, Playing Cards, France 402
