In 1958, De La Rue made and published a very beautiful two-deck set of cards, called “Lion and Unicorn,” each with the same “Historical Court Cards.” The backs of one deck show a Lion and the backs of the other deck show a Unicorn. The cards came in one “double deck” box, and were accompanied by a paper leaflet that described the historical figures on the court cards.
Offered here is the “Unicorn” deck from this “Lion and Unicorn” set, including the paper leaflet from the set, but without the box. The deck has 52 suited cards, with 2 Jokers. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 57mm, with gorgeous gold gilt around, and come in a plastic box that is not original.
The cards are pristine – with all gold gilt as original. The leaflet is clean and in excellent condition, except that it has “wrinkles.” FWIW, the box is in very good condition.
Thanks for visiting.
