Wonderful deck of cards made for Industrial Bank of Japan by Nintendo. Some of the designs are the same as those described and shown by Fournier as “History of the Automobile” cards, but in this deck, each suit is devoted to a different mode of transportation. Each card in this deck has an illustration of an early ship, plane, train or car. Nevertheless, I have adopted the date shown in Fournier for the “History of the Automobile” deck as the date of this Bank deck.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 2 extra cards – 1 with Bank advertising, and 1 with bridge scoring. The cards are long, measuring 100mm x 58mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are in excellent, “as new” condition. The box has very slight wear and evidence of handling.
