Wonderful set of cards, titled "Jazz," made by Grimaud c.1989, featuring superb jazz-related designs on the court cards, Aces and Jokers. The court cards depict some of the great players in jazz history, the Aces depict jazz instruments and the Jokers show a Mississippi steamboat of the kind on which New Orleans musicians would have performed in the earliest years of jazz. Louis Armstrong played on such a steamboat in his early years.
The deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus an extra card introducing the deck. There is also a paper insert that identifies who (or what) is depicted on the court cards, Aces and Jokers. They come in the original box.
The cards and paper insert are "as new," and the box is in excellent condition.
