Double Deck Angel “Roaring 20’s” Oblong Patience Playing Cards, c.1980
Mint, sealed (cards, not box) double deck of the wonderful “Roaring 20’s” cards made by Angel of Japan c.1980, with delightful non-standard court cards that depict persons/scenes from that decade. These are the oblong-shaped “patience” size decks with different color suit symbols, indices and pips. The Spades and Clubs have green suit symbols, blue indices, and pips with both colors (i.e., half blue and half green). The Hearts and Diamonds have orange suit symbols, red indices and pips with both colors (i.e., half red and half orange). The decks are mint and sealed, and I have elected not to open them; however, the faces of many of the cards can be seen at the World Web Playing Card Museum (WWPCM #05098).
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers. In addition, each deck has a “loose” Joker outside the wrapper; this loose Joker may be one of the 2 for that deck. The cards are an unusual, oblong “patience” size, measuring 71mm x 32mm, and come in the original cardboard box.
As noted, the cards are mint and sealed. The box is in excellent condition, with slight soiling and an old price tag.
