Mint, sealed deck of cards made by Naipes Comas, c.1994, titled “Asescoin 1994” and featuring the cartoons of renowned Spanish cartoonist Antonio Mingote. Mingote drew a daily cartoon in ABC, the Spanish daily newspaper, from 1953 until his death in 2012. My understanding is that the publisher, Asescoin de Coleccionismo, publishes an annual deck of cards, of which this is the 1994 set. There is a black and white cartoon on every card. The deck was issued in a limited edition of 500, and I believe that this deck is no. 426 (the second digit of the identifying number is faded).
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus an extra card announcing the deck and indicating the number of the deck in the limited edition run. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are mint and sealed, except for the extra card, which is outside the wrapper. The box is in excellent condition with the very slightest shelf wear.
Thanks for visiting.
