During the 1970s Philip Morris distributed a deck of “old west” cards to visitors at its primary manufacturing facility in Richmond, Va. The deck was intentionally made to look as if the cards were “charred” and “smoke damaged” by a campfire. A deck of those cards is Item #T00003383 in this shop.
The item for sale in this listing is a poker set consisting of two decks of these cards, together with poker chips and a booklet titled, “Three Famous Poker Games and How They Turned Out.” The cards, chips and booklet are housed in a custom box. The cards have (different) backs with a “wild west” campfire theme, and the box and booklet feature a similar scene. As noted, the cards are unusual, because they have been manufactured to give the appearance that they were charred by the campfire; similarly, the box has been intentionally made to look old and fire-damaged.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm. The poker chips are plastic. The same image that is on the backs of the cards is on the box and the booklet.
The cards, chips, booklet and box are in excellent condition, “as new” or very nearly so.
Thanks for visiting.
