Beautiful and somewhat rare set of airline cards made for Garuda Indonesia in the 1980s, maker unknown, featuring court cards with original illustrations of persons in traditional Indonesian dress, and 2 striking Jokers. The Jokers that may have some relationship to Garuda, the humanoid mount of the Lord Vishnu in Buddhism and Hinduism from which the Airline gets its name, but if so, it is an unusual depiction.
The deck has 52 suited cards, including Garuda Aces, plus the 2 Jokers noted. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are “as new,” and the box is in excellent condition, “as new” except for an abrasion on one side that appears to be a place where a price tag or other label was removed.
Thanks for visiting.
