Two excellent sets of cards, made by Societe Industrielle Moharrem Press, known as their “Pharaonic” decks, with Standard English courts. One of the decks also has its original cardboard box, that includes a tax band used on Egyptian cards in or about the 1970’s, and I have dated the cards accordingly. Both decks have the wonderful Ace of Spades that was used by Moharrem Press in its standard deck during this period.
Each deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 standard Moharrem Jokers. The cards are wide, measuring 89mm x 63mm, and came to me in a custom “Egyptian” box. The seller to me indicated that it was leather, but I have my doubts; it seems more likely to me that it is faux leather. As noted above, one of the decks also has its original cardboard box.
The cards of both decks are in very good lightly used condition. There is edge wear, most noticeable when the edges of the suited cards are compared with the edges of the Jokers, and the cards have been handled; three of the cards (separately pictured) have slight corner problems. The custom box is in excellent condition, without issues, but the one cardboard box is in no better than good condition, missing part of its top flap. This cardboard box no longer houses any cards, but it will travel to the buyer along with the custom box.
Thanks for visiting.
