Terrific deck with made by Drukkerij Twigt of Waddinxveen c.1998, for Bergschenhoek, B.V., a manufacturer of ducts and fittings, among other things, featuring the wonderful designs of Jan de Borst. The cards have an unusual shape with a bulge in the middle; I assume that the shape mimics the shape of one or more products made by the Company. The court cards are a modern variant of the Flemish pattern, and the Aces depict Company products; the pips are “quartered” and are quite striking. According to the World Web Playing Card Museum, the cards were printed in a limited edition of 5000, which for a deck of this type is probably not particularly meaningful.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus a bridge scoring card. At the bulge, the cards measure 89mm x 67mm, and at the top and bottom measure 57mm wide. There is no box.
The cards are “as new.” Thanks for visiting.
