Excellent double deck of cards made by Brown & Bigelow c. 1941, featuring the gorgeous designs of the great Rolf Armstrong, generally regarded as the father of the American pin-up.
Each deck has 52 suited cards, plus 1 Joker, plus 1 “Hear Ye” Extra Joker from the Assn. of American Playing Card Manufacturers, plus a card with auction and contract bridge scoring, plus a blank card. The decks were apparently a holiday gift distributed to customers and vendors by a company called Rasch & Baughman Co. of Detroit, Michigan. The company is mentioned on the box, but not on the cards. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm, with gold gilt around. They come in the original (Rasch & Baughman) box.
The cards are in excellent condition with modest edge wear, lightly used if at all; approximately 25% of the gold gilt remains. The box is in excellent condition, with very minor shelf wear.
There is also a mint, sealed double deck set of these cards for sale in this shop (T00002644).
Thanks for visiting.
