Gorgeous deck of “Corsaires et Flibustiers” playing cards. While Philibert is generally said to be the publisher of these cards (WWPCM #01467), the Philibert name appears nowhere on the cards. Instead, the title card of each deck says: “Création G. Delluc Cartier.” “Cartier” indicates that Delluc was the manufacturer of the cards, and “Création” suggests that they were designed by Delluc. I have continued to show Philibert as the publisher.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 1 frontispiece card announcing the deck. The cards are slightly wide, measuring 90mm x 61mm, with gold gilt at the corners, and come in a plastic box that is probably not original to the cards.
The cards are “as new.” The plastic box is in excellent condition.
There is a double deck of these cards for sale in this shop, with the original box and different backs. (T00003476)
