Mint twin decks, one red and one dark blue, made by Boechat Frères for Dusserre, a modern edition of an 1858 deck made by Grimaud celebrating the reign of Napoleon III, the original of which is in the Bibliothèque Nationale. The courts are non-standard illustrations of famous figures from the Second Empire. Each deck is available separately for $15; both are for sale for $30.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus a card announcing the deck. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm, and come in the original boxes.
Both decks are mint. The red deck is still in its wrapper, while the wrapper on the dark blue deck is broken, permitting the cards to be photographed for this listing. Each box is clean and in excellent condition, except that the box for the dark blue cards is developing tears along both sides of the back and the box for the red cards has a "line" across the center of the back.
