Gorgeous double deck set of “Corsaires et Flibustiers” playing cards. While Philibert is generally said to be the publisher of these cards (WWPCM #01467), the Philibert name appears nowhere on the cards or the box. Instead, the box and title card of each deck says: “Création G. Delluc Cartier.” “Cartier” indicates that Delluc was the manufacturer of the cards, and “Création” suggests that they were designed by Delluc. I have continued to show Philibert as the publisher.
Each deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 1 frontispiece card announcing the deck, plus a blank card. The cards are slightly wide, measuring 90mm x 61mm, with gold gilt at the corners. The two decks come in the original box.
One deck is mint and sealed; the other is mint. The box is in excellent condition with very mild soiling, and a slight tear at the top of the front.
