Brilliantly conceived deck featuring the photographs of Christopher Rauschenberg, son of Robert Rauschenberg, the famous artist, considered a forerunner to the Pop Art movement. Christopher is himself a photographic artist; according to his website, his work is in the collection of 11 major museums. I believe that the listed deck is quite rare and can find no information about it. There is nothing on the cards or the packaging other than Rauschenberg’s name to indicate who made the cards. I have described the cards as “self-published.”
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 4 Jokers. The cards are an unusual shape, almost square, measuring 95mm x 91mm. They come in the original packaging, a plastic, transparent, ziploc pouch. The pouch has a piece of paper affixed that identifies where and when the photographs were taken.
The cards are “as new.” The pouch is also “as new,” except that there is a very slight amount of ink transfer on the inside of it. I have now wrapped the cards in tissue paper to prevent any further such problems.
