Extremely beautiful deck made by Playwell Printers of Bombay c.1980 for Air India, featuring gorgeous Aces, a great Joker, and elegant court cards that appear to depict early historical leaders of India. In its overall general look, the deck has a lot in common with Playwell’s standard deck No. 555, but the designs are different, and, as far as I know, unique to this Air India deck. The cards use only red, black and green and are very striking.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 3 identical extra cards with bridge scoring. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 57mm. There is no box.
The cards are in excellent condition, “as new’ or very nearly so.
