Two German quartet card games. Each is available separately for $15, and both are for sale for $30. Each is described briefly below.
• A set called “Geschichte der Lokomotiven” (“History of Locomotives”) made by Coeur, with 9 families of 4 cards each, accompanied by a booklet in German describing the history presented through the families of cards. The cards are large and wide, measuring 100mm x 70mm, and come in the original box. The cards and booklet are in excellent condition, lightly used if at all. The box is structurally sound, but with some foxing/soiling.
• A set called “Mein Erstes Quartett” (“My First Quartet”) made by Berliner Spielkarten, obviously aimed at very young children, with 8 families of 4 cards each that have illustrations depicting the very basic items in a child’s world. There are no words, only pictures, as the young children expected to use this set were probably not yet able to read. The cards are large and wide, measuring 100mm x 66mm, and come in the original plastic box. The cards are “as new.” The box has a crack on the lid.
