Mint, sealed double deck set of cards copyrighted to, and probably published by, Mystic Games, Inc. c.1982, maker unknown, titled, “Silver City,” featuring delightful cartoons depicting scenes of the wild west. It is tempting to suggest that the cards were made as a souvenir for sale in Silver City, New Mexico – Billy the Kid was twice arrested there! – but I don’t know; it is also possible that the cards were made for the old Silver City Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The cartoonist has signed at the bottom of the Jack of Hearts and the cartoon is clearly dated 1969, but I cannot make out the name. I am listing these cards as U.S. cards. The last 2 pictures are of the set for sale here; the remaining pictures, including the featured picture, are from an open set.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers. The Jokers and court cards have the cartoons noted. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm. They are housed in the original cardboard double box, which then “folds” and has a slot enabling the two decks to be placed together and wrapped – as far as I know, a unique feature to the packaging.
The cards and box are mint and sealed.
Thanks for visiting.
