Twin mint, sealed decks of the interesting and very attractive deck made by Grimaud c.1990, called "Jeu Philatelique," celebrating historical stamps issued by La Poste, conceived and designed by Jacques Hiver. The court cards show stamps that featured famous persons in French history. The Aces and Jokers are stamps from the Marianne de Gandon series issued at the end of WWII. The deck is accompanied by a paper insert in French that identifies the stamps depicted. The faces of these cards can be seen at the World Web Playing Card Museum (WWPCM #07028). Each deck is available separately for $25; the two decks are for sale together for $45.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus a card announcing the deck. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm, and come in the original boxes.
As noted, the cards are mint and sealed. The boxes are “as new.”
