Two mint, sealed decks of cards made by Brown & Bigelow in the 1940s, and used by various businesses to advertise, featuring original designs by the famous pin-up artist, Gil Elvgren. With some of these decks, the advertising was only on the card boxes; in others the advertising was also on the cards themselves. Because the boxes of these decks are still sealed, I do not know if the advertising is on the cards. The boxes indicate that the decks were made for the “Gransden-Hall & Co.,” although the decks with these designs would have been used by many different companies.
Presumably each deck has 52 suited cards, plus at least 1 Joker. If it is like other Elvgren advertising decks, the faces of the cards are standard B&B faces. The cards are bridge size, measuring something like 89mm x 58mm. Obviously, the boxes are original.
The cards and boxes are mint and sealed.
Each deck is available separately for $45, and both are for sale for $90.
Thanks for visiting.
