Wonderful deck made by Editions Dusserre for Vygon, SA, the French manufacturer of medical and surgical equipment. In 1976 Dusserre made two decks that are shown in the Fournier catalogue, one for L’Oreal Coiffure and one for Porcher, that were designed by Jean Blanc (see, Fournier, Playing Cards, France 513, 514), and I believe that the designs of this Vygon deck are by the same artist. Assuming that is true, I have dated this deck to the same year as the two Blanc decks shown in Fournier. However, Blanc is not mentioned on the box or the cards, and while the World Wide Playing Card Museum shows this deck (WWPCM #01069), Blanc is not identified at the WWPCM as the artist and no date is given for the deck.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 outstanding Jokers, plus an extra card announcing the deck. The cards are bridge size, measuring 87mm x 58mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are mint, and the box is in excellent condition.
Thanks for visiting.
