Superb deck of beautiful souvenir cards made by Bielefelder Spielkarten Fabrik GmbH, c.1950, featuring illustrations (not photographs) of persons in traditional German style and dress on some cards, and illustrations of famous scenic venues on others. The illustrations are on all cards, and are described at some length in an accompanying booklet. Originally, the booklet was in English and German, but it appears to me that the booklet accompanying this deck has only the pages in English. Fournier dates this deck to 1950, and I have done the same, although it may date slightly later.
The deck has 52 cards, plus 3 Jokers. The cards are slightly large bridge size, measuring 91mm x 60mm, with gold gilt at the corners. They are currently housed in a plastic box that is not original, and will travel to the buyer in that box. The deck is priced as if there was no box.
The cards are "as new," in beautiful condition. The booklet has only the English pages and is missing its back cover, but those pages that remain are in excellent condition. The plastic box is in very good condition, but as noted, is not original to the cards.
