Mint set of rare and beautiful cards made by Grimaud c.1964, titled “Les Quatre Saisons,” and featuring the brilliant designs of Jean Picart Le Doux. The same artist also designed a wonderful deck of cards in 1957 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of De La Rue.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 1 Joker, plus 1 extra card announcing the deck. It is likely that the deck originally had 2 Jokers, but there is only 1 now. The cards are an unusual long size, measuring 94mm x 57mm, with gold gilt at the corners. There is no box.
The cards are mint.
