3 Decks Olympic Playing Cards, $10/ea.: (i) USPC “Centennial Olympic Games Collection,” c.1996; (ii) Carta Mundi “54 Motives from Norway” for Lillehammer Olympics, c.1994; (iii) Western “1984 Winter Olympics” for Sarajevo Olympics 1984
Three decks published in connection with the Olympic Games. Each is available separately for $10; all 3 are for sale for $30. Each is described briefly below.
• Mint set of “Centennial Olympic” cards made by United States Playing Card Company, with artwork on each card “reminiscent of the Historical Olympic Games moments that are now etched upon our minds forever.” The artwork spans the century from 1896 to 1996. The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 “Wild Cards,” plus 2 extra cards describing the deck. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm, and come in the original box. The wrapper on the box was breached to permit them to be inspected and photographed for this listing.
• A souvenir deck made by Carta Mundi and published by the Lillehammer Olympic Committee, with pictures of the gorgeous scenery of Norway. Proceeds from the sale of the deck were used to promote and support the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. The deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 1 insert card describing the deck. The cards are bridge size, and come in the original box. The cards and box are “as new,” except that the box has minor wear at the corners.
• A mint, sealed deck made by Western Publishing Company for the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. Voochko, the official mascot of the 1984 Winter Olympics, is on a card that shows through the cellophane. I assume that the deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, in addition to this Mascot card. The cards are bridge size, and come in the original box. The cards are mint and sealed; the box is “as new,” except for minor foxing on the top flap.
THE AMOUNT SHOWN FOR DOMESTIC SHIPPING ASSUMES THAT ALL 3 DECKS ARE PURCHASED. IF FEWER DECKS ARE PURCHASED, SHIPPING WILL BE LESS.
