2 Decks Grimaud Russia Themed Playing Cards, $15/ea.: (i) “Glorious Russia” c.1995; and (ii) “Back to the USSR,” Y.Nepakharev and R.Melikhov Designs, c.1995
Two decks by Grimaud with a Russia theme, its “Glorious Russia” deck, and its “Back to the USSR” deck. Each is available separately for $15; both are for sale for $25. They are described briefly below:
• Mint, sealed (cards, not box) of Grimaud’s “Glorious Russia” cards, with pre-Soviet historical figures on the court cards, and Aces depicting coats of arms of the royal empire. The box states that this is a 36-card deck; however, the listing at the World Web Playing Card Museum shows Jokers, and so it is possible that even the 36-card set includes them. Also, the WWPCM listing shows an extra insert card, and it seems likely to me that the insert card is included in every deck. The cards are bridge size, and come in the original box. As noted, the cards are mint and sealed, and the box is in excellent condition with minor shelf wear.
• Wonderful deck titled, “Back in the USSR” and featuring prominent Communist leaders on the court cards. According to the World Web Playing Card Museum, the cards were designed by Y.Nepakharev and R.Melikhov. The deck is complete with 36 suited cards (Ace, 6-K in all 4 suits). The cards are bridge size, and come in a plastic box that I do not believe is original. The cards are “as new,” and the plastic box is in excellent condition.
THE PRICE SHOWN FOR DOMESTIC SHIPPING ASSUMES THAT BOTH DECKS ARE PURCHASED. THE COST OF SHIPPING WILL BE LESS IF ONLY ONE IS PURCHASED.
