Beautiful portable gaming set in a black leather zip case, with a double deck of cards made by Fritz Fischer Nuernberger Spielkartenfabrik, c.1962. Fritz Fischer made playing cards in Nuremberg for a short time, c.1961-1989. This is the first set of cards by this maker that I have ever seen, although they may be more common than I know. The Jokers are standard Fritz Fischer jokers, and the Fritz Fischer logo, albeit faint, is on the 10 of Hearts. [It is also on the seal of the deck still in its wrapper.] This gaming set also has a set of dice, a bridge score pad, and 2 pencils. The dice are housed inside a separate compartment built into the leather zip case.
Each of the decks of cards has 52 cards, plus 3 Jokers. The cards are large bridge size, measuring 90mm x 60mm. As noted, the cards and other items in this set are housed in a handsome leather case.
One of the decks of cards is mint and still sealed in its wrapper, although that wrapper wants to come off; the other deck is mint but without its wrapper. The dice, pencils and score pad are “as new.” The leather case is very nearly “as new,” but with a couple of indentations and a “scratch” that can be felt and not seen on the front; there is a similar “scratch” on the back.
